"Princess Hair"

Karsyn still has pretty bad cradle cap from time to time. If you aren't familiar with this, it's kind of like these brownish/orange patches of skin that form on the scalp. It's typically something that affects babies, but for some reason, K still gets it. I used to rub baby oil into her hair, let it soak in, the comb it out. The patches would break loose and come out. This method took lots of time and sitting still, not something that comes easily to a 2 year old. Not to mention that her hair was greasy for days no matter how many times I washed it.

My sweet hairdresser, Misty, suggested that I take baking soda and to mix it with shampoo to make a paste. She said to rub it on, let it sit for 30 minutes, then shampoo it out. We decided to try it one night for both K and Mack. We called it "princess hair" and talked it up big time for a few days before we attempted it. We also promised her a prize afterwards if she would cooperate and big a big girl.

I sat K at the dinner table and worked the paste into her scalp. We then covered it with a shower cap, let her watch an episode of Dora, and then we washed it out. The cradle cap? GONE! She's had it for two and a half years and after one application of this paste, it was gone!

We also put some on Mack and covered his head with press and seal wrap. It was hilarious! I know when he's older he won't be too happy, but that's okay.  Here are some pictures for you to enjoy! Please ignore my bad hair in the pics! :) Love to you all!
