Today is our last day in the kitchen. We will hit two small, easy jobs.
1- Clearing off our cabinets
2- Clearing off the front of our refrigerators
I have a relatively small kitchen that I used to cram full of appliances. On the counters I had not one but TWO types of coffee pots, my canister set, a toaster oven, a mixer, a blender, a water pitcher, a knife block and a utensil holder. There was no free space for anything! And it looked so cluttered that I didn't even want to attempt to get it clean as I should have. I read about the importance of clearing away things from our countertops and so a few months back I did. It made a big difference at our house!. Here's a before picture of what my kitchen countertops typically look like by the end of the day:
Each evening, I try to clear things away so that I can start fresh the next day. Here's my AFTER shots:
I used to keep everyone's Christmas card pictures on the front of the fridge, all the kids artwork, their alphabet and animal toys, all sorts of magnets, etc. It became overwhelming so a few months ago I cleared it all off. It's slowly crept back on, so today I cleaned it off again. Here's our BEFORE:
And our AFTER:
For the charts and things we use daily, I put them inside of cabinets nearby.
Hope this helps each of you!
Good luck! Keep up the good work!
